Sharing Fake News – Don't!
We are aware that many of our residents have been concerned about the public disorder we have seen across the country in recent weeks. We wanted to reassure residents that we receive regular updates from the local police team in Leicestershire and our local councils. We share these updates across our social media channels, and we urge residents to ensure that they also share any content from official channels and ensure you do not share false information. Here is an example of one of the tiles shared with us by the police on 12th August following peaceful protests in Leicester City.
Telegraph Poles
Following on from last month’s report, we have conducted some further work on the installations of the telegraph poles across the village. We are aware of many telegraph poles being installed across the village in multiple locations. We have had several residents contact us to complain about some of these locations. They have also complained to the email address on the sign on the pole and received no response.
We have been in contact with Openreach and we have now received a response from them. You are able to complain about the location of a pole that has affected you. The best way to object to any installation of a telecommunication pole is via this online form:

Streetsafe Reporting
Police UK have launched a new reporting stream called StreetSafe.StreetSafe is a service that allows you to report safety concerns in public places without giving your name (i.e. anonymously). This includes issues like poorly lit streets, abandoned buildings, or vandalism, as well as instances where you feel unsafe due to someone following or verbally abusing you. Examples of situations that should be reported to StreetSafe include a poorly lit alleyway that makes you feel unsafe or a park with broken play equipment that poses a safety hazard. You can report these issues on the link here:
www.police.uk/pu/notices/streetsafe/street-safe/
Please note: StreetSafe is not for reporting crimes. If you witness a crime, please report it to Police via https://www.police.uk/pu/contact-us/ or by phoning 101 or 999.
A-Z of Services
We get enquires from residents asking how to report issues that they have as it can sometimes be difficult to find the right council to contact; in other words Parish, County or Borough? Therefore, we have provided a helpful sheet to guide you in the right direction should you need to report any issues you may have. As always, you can always contact either of us if you need any help.
